As this is my first article on Medium, I’d like to begin with a personal article.

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers/LeBron James

I’ve been a LeBron fan since the day I started watching the NBA which was 8 years ago. Ever since then, I’ve watched every game televised which featured LeBron and his team. I’ve seen LeBron lift 3 NBA championship trophies, 2 MVP trophies, a number of thunderous dunks, and so many AND 1’s. There have been so many moments of celebration, but there we also so many disappointments. But LeBron still made it some amazing years. Now, I support the Lakers largely because I’m a LeBron fan. I just became a Lakers fan before the 2018/19 season, but I had to learn everything about them. From players to coaches to the team’s history and everything else.

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles

I support the Eagles largely because I was born there and I lived in the area for about 6 years. I’ve been surrounded by the Eagles as my dad is a massive fan. Every week from September to December for more than 10 years, Eagles games. There have been so many great moments of being an Eagles fan, but also some bad ones. I still clearly remember the Miracle at the Meadowlands and Super Bowl 52. Sooner or later, another Lombardi trophy is heading back to Philly.

Soccer: Chelsea

I’m a huge fan of soccer if you didn’t already know. I’ve played and watched for the past 8 years. I’ve been a Chelsea fan since the day I became a soccer fan. I became a Chelsea fan because the first time I played career mode in FIFA 13, I chose Chelsea because they seemed good. Since then, I’ve learned so much from players to history, to transfers, to the up and comers, and the tactics. It’s been a lot of great moments watching the Blues(Chelsea’s nickname) as they’ve had a lot more good moments than bad ones. The most memorable moment of being a Chelsea fan was getting a full-on tour of Stamford Bridge which is the name of their stadium. Getting to be on the field, walking through the tunnel, being in both locker rooms, and even sitting in the same chairs the player’s sit-in when they give a press conference, finished off by getting my first even Chelsea jersey which was of N’Golo Kanté. He’s one of the best in the world if you didn’t know. I’m extremely excited to see how Chelsea turns out in the next few seasons as half of their team is 21 and under and yet they are still near the top of the league.

Tua Tagovailova

College Football: Alabama Crimson Tide

Before you call me a bandwagon, allow me to explain. I became an Alabama fan because my dad went to college there. Luckily, they happen to be pretty good at football. Though it’s been a rough few years to Bama standards, I’m excited to see how well Jones can lead this team. Winning has been the only thing I’ve seen the Crimson Tide do. They lose rarely so it does to take losses. Over the years, I’ve seen so many great Alabama quarterbacks. AJ McCarron, Blake Sims, Jalen Hurts, and Tua. It’s been great to see so many great players come and go, and how the team can still maintain winning with a great freshman. I believe Bama can get back to winning ways this year.

Aaron Judge

MLB: New York Yankees

I’ve only recently started following baseball, about a few years ago. I became a fan of the Yankees because they’re the closest team to my house. My first Yankees game was sometime in July of 2014, they beat the Reds 4–2. I think Todd Frazier hit a home run and Jacoby Ellsbury hit a 2 run shot to right field. I only pay attention to baseball when it’s October, that’s when all the action happens. In my time watching the Yankees, they’ll make it pretty far almost every year. Then the trash can banging Astros come along, then cheat their way to the ALCS or the World Series. It really sucked to find out the Yankees could’ve potentially won the World Series if the Astros had decided to play by the rules. This season is definitely the Yankees’ season. Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and Garrett Cole. Can’t forget about everyone else though. But, Yankees are going to whoop everyone this season, emphasis on the whoop.

Indian national cricket team

International Cricket: India

There is no way I root against the country of my origins. They produce some of the world’s best cricket players. I’ve been a fan nearly for a decade. I’ve watched nearly every match I can. Along the way, watching the game also made me a good player. Sadly, I’ve never seen India win anything. They always make it to the semis, then end up losing to the likes of Australia or New Zealand. It’s been a couple of disappointing years, but no worries with me, this team is in good hands, at least that’s what I hope. I love watching cricket, wearing my India cricket jersey brings out the full Indian with me. And by full, sometimes it gets too much. When I watch, I need the full setup. My jersey, an orange/white/green wig which is the Indian flag colors. At least 5 miniature flags, and then a massive sign saying “Please don’t lose!” Honestly, watching with a large group is amazing. The energy is what I love most. The T20 World Cup is ours next year, no doubt, that is assuming Bumrah does his usual magic.

Chennai Super Kings

League Cricket: Chennai Super Kings

The Chennai Super Kings are my favorite team in the IPL(Indian Premier League). This is basically a domestic cricket league where the best players from each country come to India to play in a league. Anyway, the Super Kings are my favorite team because both of my parents are originally from Chennai. I’ve been a fan of the Super Kings for the past 5 years now. The team also has my favorite cricket player, MS Dhoni, AKA Captain Cool. The team is arguably the best team in the league. It’s a close tossup between them and the Mumbai Indians. The Super Kings are almost always in the finals, they’ve won the league the second most amount of times with 3. The league has only been around for 12 years so it makes sense. The IPL is on from March until May so I always find some way to watch it in school. Also the reason my teacher yelled at me a few times. But anyway, Chennai is going to win it all this year, I belive in them.

Everyone has their reasons on why they follow a particular team. For me, these are the reasons why a support the teams that I do.
